Hannah has extensive training in hospital, university, community, and private practice settings. She enjoys assisting clients from diverse backgrounds who present a wide range of mental health, interpersonal, and physical health conditions.

In sessions, Hannah supports clients to cultivate curiosity and compassion in processing their experiences and gaining practical skills for daily challenges. She collaborates with clients in their journey of healing and growth, with flexible integration of therapeutic modalities (DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, trauma-informed, and relational psychodynamic work).

Hannah strives to provide a safe, supportive therapeutic space, while ensuring that humour is not lost in the process. She provides psychotherapy in English and Vietnamese. In addition to Hannah’s practice at our clinic, she currently works at a hospital.

Masako Tanaka

Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), M.Ed., M.P.H., Ph.D.

Masako is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto.

Masako has also been a researcher over 20 years, worked at both academic and government settings in the areas of child welfare, family violence, and mental health. She understands the complexities and challenges of childhood exposure to adversities (e.g., loss, illness, maltreatment) and wishes to support individuals and families through tailored therapeutic interventions and preventions. Masako holds a Master of Public Health from the State University of New York, and a Ph.D. in Health Research Methodology and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Offord Centre for Child Studies, both at McMaster University.

Masako is currently working with individuals - 12 years old and over – and couples, for emotional, behavioural, adjustment, and relationship issues.

Masako has an integrative trauma-informed approach towards therapy where she draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches suitable for client’s needs. The therapeutic approaches often used include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy among others.

Masako provides services in English and Japanese.

Sobia Salim

Therapist Intern - Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Availability: Hybrid (in-person and virtually)

Sobia is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Distinction from Yorkville University. Bachelor of Arts (Health) with Specialized Honours in Psychology from York University, and she is also registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators. She holds her RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator).

Sobia believes that life takes multiple steps toward growth. Essentially, growth towards freedom to be authentic, vulnerable, compassionate, and courageous. This means the therapy process is a collaborative mission between the client and the therapist. Sobia will work at your pace and provide a safe space for exploration. She will engage the client to explore the openness that will allow room to identify, understand and overcome personal problems and achieve personal objectives. 

Sobia inclusively works from an integrative systemic approach, implementing modalities such as Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Trauma focused-cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT), Strength-based approach, Mindfulness-based approach, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and culturally sensitive. 

Sobia has experience working with individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds. She sincerely regards all age groups and enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience working with an array of individual concerns such as severe PTSD, PTSD-war survivor, trauma, depression, anxiety, fear, suicide ideation, loss and grief, career insecurities, life transitions, emotion regulation, relationship issues, stress and burnout, and insecurities to list a few.

Fluency in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.

Farwa Batool

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Farwa is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a student completing her practicum at PPTC. She views life through a respect-focused and social justice lens, recognizing the importance of the collective and relational aspects of human life. Supporting with empathy and compassion are core values that guide her interactions.

Having worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and within various settings such as schools, hospitals, and community agencies, Farwa believes that effective healing happens through taking a person-centered approach. As she continues to expand on her knowledge of various modalities, she aims to utilize an integrative model, working within an overall humanistic and strengths-based approach, to collaboratively work with each individual to meet their unique needs.

Farwa offers reduced-fee psychotherapy sessions. She is available for virtual appointments on Wednesdays, and in-person/virtual appointments on Fridays. Please inquire for more information

Farwa is able to provide service in English, Urdu, Hindi, and has basic understanding of Turkish and Farsi/Persian.

Rinchen Choden

Therapist Intern, M.Psy

Rinchen is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Master of Psychology from Adler Graduate Professional School.

Her focus as a therapist is to provide a safe space for her clients where they are able to explore and discover their wise self. She works collaboratively with individuals to help them gain insights and equip them with practical tools to navigate their life’s challenges.

Rinchen enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds and uses an eclectic approach, drawing from modalities like CBT, DBT, IFS, and trauma-informed care.

Rinchen works with individuals aged 16 years and over, facing a range of challenges, including career-related issues, trauma, depression, stress, or life transitions.

Rinchen provides services in English, Dzongkha, and conversational Hindi.

Penny Pei

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), M.E.

  • Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) Student
  • Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science

Penny is a warm, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed therapist who draws on her rich life experiences to guide her work. She helps individuals navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, identity exploration, and generational trauma.

With many years of experience working with children and youth in school settings, Penny is adept at addressing emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, ADHD, and various disabilities. She collaborates closely with parents to better understand and support their children, approaching the parents’ experiences with compassion.

Penny is committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and supported in their personal growth and healing journey. She deeply respects each person’s unique story, approaching therapy with empathy, openness, and a belief in the strength and potential within every client. Penny helps clients deepen their insight, build resilience, and move toward a life that reflects their values. 

Her integrative approach is tailored to each client’s unique experiences and needs, drawing from modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, IFS, and psychodynamic therapy. Through her work, Penny also incorporates creative expression, including drawing and play-based techniques, particularly when working with children. 

Penny provides services in English and Mandarin.
